Caterpillar has introduced a pair of work tools compatible with several of its smaller loaders for speeding up snow removal this winter season.

For starters, the new range of Straight Snow Pushes are designed for moving snow in a wide range of applications. Available with rubber and steel cutting edges, the attachment reaches all the way down to the surface while an additional bolt-on back drag allows it to pull material away from a structure.

Available in widths ranging from 8 to 16 feet, the pushes avoid obstacles with a spring-loaded trip edge while the adjustable skid allows operators to set a constant cutting edge.

Cat has also introduced a 102-inch Material Handling Bucket (model 2591). This is the largest in Cat’s bucket family and is capable of carrying up to 1.7 cubic yards of material.

The honeycomb top on the bucket gives the operator a view of just how much snow is being moved without taking away line of sight to the edge and corners of the bucket.

Cat says the bucket is a “cross-over between snow and agriculture applications” and can be used “year round in light material, high capacity applications such as handling mulch, dirt or rock.”

The attachments are available for Cat’s skid steer, compact track, multi terrain, compact wheel, backhoe and small wheel loaders.
