Caterpillar recently gave our sister site Aggregates Manager a sneak peek at its Tier 4 Final articulated trucks.

The trucks, the 30-ton 730 C and the 25-ton 725 C, will launch in January and February, respectively.

According to Aggregates Manager, The 730 C (which also has an ejector model) is powered by a Cat C-13 engine with 16 percent more power, up to 41 percent more torque and a power-to-weight improvement of up to 14 percent. Caterpillar says the end result is a 16-percent increase in productivity and up to a 6-percent improvement to fuel efficiency.

Meanwhile, the 725 C is powered by the C-9 engine that provides up to 5 percent more power, up to 21 percent more torque and an increase in power-to-weight of up to 4.1 percent.

The trucks’¬†transmission has been updated to allow for smoother shifting and Caterpillar also updated the trucks’ cab, dump body, structure and exterior design. Be sure to read Aggregates Manager‘s full in-depth report on the updated trucks by clicking here.¬†
