Cat to build engines in Texas
Posted By Tom Jackson On December 19, 2008 @ 10:54 am In Construction News | No Comments
Seguin, just east of San Antonio has been chosen as the location for the new facility to build truck, marine and electric power engines. [1] The plant will cover 1-million square feet and employ up to 1,400 people. Seguin beat out Greenville, South Carolina, Montgomery, Alabama and a city in Mexico for the facility–probably due in large part to it’s excellent transportation access. Seguin is on I-10 and just a few miles from I-35. And the I-35 corridor around San Antonio will play a major part in the $184-billion Trans Texas Corridor [2]superhighway project…if that ever gets built.
