Cat will expand its plant in Xuzhou, China, and will acquire Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group’s 15.87 percent ownership in Caterpillar Xuzhou Limited, a joint venture with the Chinese company initially established in 1995. When the acquisition is complete, CXL will be a wholly-owned Caterpillar company.

Once the CXL excavator expansion plans are completed in 2014, Cat will have increased its China-based excavator capacity by 400 percent.
