Case has released an update to the 521F, bringing its smallest wheel loader into Tier 4 Final compliance, adding a few fuel efficiency features and bolstering one of the machine’s specs.

Like the previous generation 521F, unveiled at the 2013 World of Concrete show, this new loader delivers 131 net horsepower. However, bucket breakout force has increased from 16,735 to 19,303 lbs.-ft.

The 22,948-pound loader is available with Z-bar (standard), extended reach (XR) and tool carrier (XT) linkages and features a bucket capacity of 2.3 cubic yards with a hinge pin height of 11 feet, 8 inches.

The loader implements selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to meet Tier 4 Final standards. SCR eliminates the need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and regeneration times and Case says the engine technology extends the time between maintenance intervals.

Operators will find what Case says is the largest cab in the industry, featuring a dual air filtration system, floor-to-ceiling windows, an improved lighting system and an instrument cluster with four power modes: Economy, Standard, Max and Auto.

In this new loader Case has added auto engine shutdown and idle as standard features.

Also standard are limited-slip axles with heavy-duty axles with locking front differential as an available option.

Other options include:
  • Heated air-ride seat
  • Rearview camera
  • Joystick steering
  • Wide variety of tires, including snow tires
  • Optional SmartFit bucket tooth system
  • An expanded selection of attachments, including new buckets, rotary brooms and forks
