Paul Palmer IV was elected president and chief operating officer (COO) of the National Lime and Stone Co. at its recent meeting of the board of directors, Carleton P. Palmer III, chairman of the board and CEO of National Lime and Stone Co., announced on Feb. 4.

Carleton Palmer said that Paul Palmer will have responsibility for all the operating and administrative functions of the company. The president and COO, along with the senior vice president of finance and CFO will report to the Carleton Palmer.

Paul Palmer has been employed with National Lime and Stone for the past five years with responsibilities including executive vice president, vice president of development and corporate counsel. Prior to joining National, Paul Palmer was an associate attorney for Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York working with both the Financial Institutions Group and the Mergers and Acquisitions Group.

Paul Palmer serves as a member of the board of directors for National Lime and Stone, a director for the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA), a trustee of Ohio Wesleyan University, and as a trustee for the University of Findlay.

Paul Palmer holds a J.D. from Indiana University and a B.A. degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and is admitted to the practice of law in the State of New York and the State of Ohio.

Paul Palmer and his wife Sarah reside in Findlay, Ohio.

National Lime and Stone is one of the nation’s largest independently owned producers of crushed stone and is one of the largest suppliers of construction aggregates in Ohio.

The company is the largest domestic producer of dried dolomitic stone used to manufacture flat glass. Other industrial minerals manufactured by National are used by such industries as roofing, steel, agriculture, and automotive. National also produces cut stone for architectural and landscape markets.

National operates quarries or distribution centers in or near the following Ohio communities:  Akron, Bellaire (Wheeling, W.V. area), Bryan, Buckland, Bucyrus, Canton, Carey, Cleveland, Columbus (Delaware), Columbus (Lockbourne), Coshocton,  Delphos, Edgerton, Findlay, Lima, Magnolia, Marion, Massillon, New Philadelphia, Ostrander, Radnor, Rimer, Upper Sandusky, Vanlue, and Wooster; as well as distribution centers in Erie and Pittsburgh, Pa.
