Brigade Electronics Demonstrates NEW Wireless Camera Monitor System at Hillhead.
| March 21, 2012
Brigade Electronics demonstration truck will be on display at Hillhead this year with all its latest vehicle safety products including their NEW wireless camera monitor system.
Wireless camera-monitor systems have been on the market for several years but have demonstrated poor picture quality caused by electrical interference from other vehicle systems. Historically Brigade found that wireless systems only worked in optimal conditions, not typical in the Quarry and heavy plant and equipment sector and as safety experts, did not want to bring a product to market that was not safe.
New digital technology has vastly improved the stability of picture performance and following product testing, Brigade will be displaying their new wireless system at Hillhead. The wireless system saves running cables along the vehicle reducing fitting time and preventing cables from becoming damaged, especially relevant for articulated machinery.
Also on display (stand Q11) will be Brigade’s Xtreme Backsense pulsed radar sensor system. Xtreme has been re-engineered with a new moulded cable connector increasing water resistance and making it even more robust and now with improved precision down to only 60cm from the sensor. The heavy duty system is perfect for detecting moving and stationary objects around construction vehicles and mobile plant equipment that typically have extensive blind spots. The system provides the driver with graduated visual and audible warnings allowing the driver to judge speed and direction. Operators can choose six, eight or ten metre detection ranges ideal for larger machines. Sensors can be networked providing 360 degree protection of the vehicle. Operators can also configure the audio and visual warning boundary for the final detection zone.
For light to medium duty vehicles and machines, Workzone offers excellent close-in detection. Its beam pattern covers the bumper close-in from corner to corner, suiting busy work sites by detecting workers adjacent to the rear. The three metre beam pattern is approximately the width of the vehicle providing a benefit over devices with wider detection areas that give regular false warnings. Both Xtreme and workzone can trigger other safety devices such as camera monitor systems or reversing alarms on detection of objects.
Brigade’s NEW BE-970WM seven inch digital LCD monitor is waterproof to IP69K, ideal for quarry and construction applications and has been tested to ISO 13766 for earth moving machinery and EMC standards. Its sister device has been fitted to a major earth moving manufacturer. The BE-970WM has a backlit touch screen button panel and a ‘button lock’ anti tamper feature. The BE-970WM is compatible with Brigade’s heated shutter camera (BE-810C) which prevents the lens from getting dirty or freezing in cold temperatures.
Brigade’ network of Business Service Partners (BSPs) in the UK, offers customers the complete package of quality products and exceptional service. The BSPs are experienced technicians who provide service and support for anyone who has purchased Brigade products. The BSPs operate from over 20 regional sites nationwide, each with fully equipped workshops and a team of engineers providing extensive parts availability, support and advice. In addition Brigade has a nationwide network of approved fitters, mobile engineers and over 150 distributors. So wherever you are, Brigade can support you. For peace of mind, an onsite service upgrade can be purchased to get a vehicle back on the road as quickly as possible.
