Bosch Power Tools’ newest rotary hammer, the RH850VC 1 7/8-inch SDS-max, delivers 9.3 foot-pounds of impact energy while reducing vibration up to 60 percent when compared with the previous model.

The three-level vibration control system includes a longer air cushion between the piston and striker in the hammer mechanism, a tuned mass damper that moves in counter motion to the hammer mechanism, and a de-coupled main handle that absorbs vibrations before they reach the operators’ hands.

The RH850VC ranges from 150 to 305 RPM and from 1,380 to 2,760 BPM. The 13.5-amp motor delivers a 44 percent faster drilling speed than competitors, according to Bosch, as well as a 40-percent faster chiseling removal rate.

The SDS-max bit system ensures tool-free bit changes, automatic bit lock, built-in dust protection and a variable speed dial for controlled drilling and demolition applications. Constant Response circuitry provides soft-start and overload protection, as well as maintaining constant speed under load. Service minder brushes indicate when maintenance is required.
