The heat index throughout much of the country right now is well over 100 degrees, and even if they’re under a roof, the temperatures will slow down workers and can put them at risk of heat exhaustion or stroke.

You know the drill about hydration and loose clothing, but one of the best investments you can make to keep your workers safe and productive in the summer’s oven-like temperatures is a high-tech cooling fan.

Wilton’s new Cold Front 3037 Atomized Cooling fan offers double the air cooling efficiency of comparable commercial fans with no noticeable increase in humidity and one-third less power use. The unit uses low air pressure and water to create micro-droplets that evaporate instantly, giving you a pleasantly cool and steady breeze in your shop, warehouse or loading facilities.

The cold Front 3037 is powered by a half-horsepower direct drive motor running off regular 120-volt electricity and turns its 30 inch blades at 1,100 rpm, giving you 8,462 cfm of air at 22.3 mph. It can run for 10 hours on a single fill up of its 19-gallon water tank and covers up to 3,161 square feet. It measures only 4-feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 38 percent less than competing models.

Noise is kept to a reasonable 77.5 decibels at 5 feet. It comes mounted on four 12-inch wheels with solid rubber tires and sells for $3,499 through industrial distributors and online retailers.
