Skid-steer and compact track loader (CTL) maker ASV has expanded its Posi-Track lineup with two new CTL models.

The new VT-70 is the company’s first mid-frame, vertical lift CTL. Offering extended reach and level loads, ASV says the VT-70 features best-in-class operating capacity and excels in agriculture, construction and excavation tasks.

Boasting 146 lb.-ft. of torque, the VT-70 is powered by a 2.4-liter Kubota engine producing 65 horsepower. Operating capacity is 2,328 pounds and the loader has a tipping load of 6,650 pounds. Lift height is 10.5 feet.

With the reintroduction of its Posi-Track lineup back in 2015, ASV switched from the closed design of its previous undercarriage to a new open-rail drive-sprocket design. The change makes the undercarriage easier to clean and extends sprocket and bogie life. Rollers don’t require maintenance thanks to mechanical face seals and ASV estimates track life at 1,500 to 2,000 hours.

Fifteen-inch-wide tracks come standard on the VT-70 with a ground pressure of 4.6 psi and ground clearance of 13 inches. A turf track is also available for highly manicured surfaces as is a 16.5-inch aggressive track with a lower ground pressure of 4.2 psi and increased traction and flotation.

The VT-70’s single-level suspension is made up of two independent torsion axles per undercarriage making for a smooth ride over all types of terrain at speeds up to 11 miles per hour. The loader also features a ride control that dampens the load in the bucket and limits material loss.

ASV says the auxiliary hydraulic system on the VT-70 can operate with an optional 28.4 gallons-per-minute high flow and 3,300 psi. It includes large line sizes, hydraulic coolers and direct-drive pumps which transfer more flow and  pressure directly to the attachment preventing power loss the company says is inherent to belt-driven pumps.

Joystick controls are standard on the VT-70 and the machine also features a self-leveling system which allows operators to place attachments at a set position while lifting.

ASV has also introduced a customized version of the RT-75, a large-frame radial-lift loader introduced last year.

The RT-75 HD has been optimized for forestry work, ASV says, adding metal guarding against brush and debris and a hydraulically-driven reverse cooling fan that blows debris from mulching applications out of the engine compartment.

The brush guards are located around key areas such as lights, the AC condenser and rear screen. A full rear brush guard is available as a factory installed option.

Apart from the added protection, the RT-75 HD has the same specs as the RT-75.

It’s powered by a 2.8-liter Cummins engine providing 75 horsepower and 221 lb.-ft. of torque. Operating capacity is 2,650 pounds with a tipping load of 7,571 pounds. Lift height is 126 inches.

The RT-75 features a dual-level suspension able to adapt to different terrain at faster speeds thanks to suspended wheels and axles. ASV says the machine performs better on steep slopes than competitors thanks to triple-guide lugs and multiple wheel contact points.

Eighteen-inch tracks come standard and have a ground pressure of 3.6 psi. Twenty-inch tracks are an available option and lower ground pressure to 3.2 psi.

The RT-75 HD can be paired with all standard attachments, such as backhoes, buckets, snow blades, brush cutters and pallet forks.
