ARTBA-TDF seeks nominations for 2014 Young Executive Development Program

artba-logoThe American Road & Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) is accepting nominations for its 2014 Young Executive Development Program (YEDP).

The program, which introduces young executives to the federal legislative and regulatory processes and how they impact the transportation design and construction industry,  will be held June 9-12 in Washington, D.C. YEDP features sessions on highway/transit financing, economics, environmental, regulatory and legal issues, public-private partnerships and industry innovation.

Held in conjunction with ARTBA’s annual Federal Issues Program (FIP) and Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC) Fly-In, the program allows participants to meet with their congressional delegation about pending transportation issues and to listen to industry CEOs share their career experiences and offer their perspectives on leadership and business issues.

To be eligible for the YEDP, candidates:

  • Should be under 40 years of age, though exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.

  • Should have at least three years of experience in the transportation design and construction industry, have made a significant contribution to the work of his or her firm, and shown evidence of strong leadership potential for the industry.

  • Must be nominated by a sponsor and submit a completed application form.

A letter of nomination and recommendation written by a principal of the firm, a senior executive within the governmental agency or a senior-level faculty member at the university which employs the applicant is required with each application.

Applications must be received at The ARTBA Building in Washington, D.C., by March 31.

ARTBA-TDF notes that all individuals who nominate someone for the YEDP will be entered into a drawing to win an iPad.
