ARTBA-TDF searches for future industry leaders

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) is seeking nominations for its 14th Annual Young Executive Development Program (YEDP), to be held May 19-21, 2009, in Washington D.C.

The YEDP caters to develop future leaders and offers young executives an intensive three-day introduction to the federal legislative and regulatory processes that influence the transportation design and construction industries.

Participants will be introduced to the role of trade associations in the policy making process and how leadership in their trade association can benefit not only their industry, but also their own careers. YEDP fellows will lobby their congressional delegations on the 2009 highway transit authorization bill as part of the ARTBA “Federal Issues Program” and Transportation Construction Coalition Fly-In.

More than 310 young executives from 160 companies, public agencies and state contractor organizations in 40 states and Washington, D.C., have completed the program over the past 13 years. Several past participants are now serving on the ARTBA Board of Directors and ARTBA-TDF Board of Trustees.
