Another black eye for ethanol

Apparently it takes three times as much water [1]to process corn into fuel-grade ethanol than had been previously estimated. Bad news if you live in an area plagued with droughts. In a best case scenario it takes about 100 gallons of water to produce a gallon of ethanol. But in some areas is may take as much as 2,100 gallons of water to make one gallon of ethanol.
