The American Truck Dealers (ATD), a division of the National Automobile Dealers Association, has named Robert W. Nuss of Nuss Truck Group as the 2017 Truck Dealer of the Year.

ATD made the presentation during its recent 2017 Convention & Expo in New Orleans.

“The ATD Dealer of the Year award recognizes Nuss Truck Group’s commitment to helping customers achieve increased uptime and gain a higher return on investment from their Mack trucks,” says Jonathan Randall, senior vice president of sales for Mack Trucks North America. “On behalf of everyone at Mack, we congratulate Bob and his entire staff at their locations across Minnesota and Wisconsin.”

Five finalists from local, state and national trucking association leaders were nominated for the award, which was judged by a panel of professors from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. Nuss was selected as the winner based on dealership performance, industry leadership and civic contributions.

Nuss Truck Group, based in Rochester, Minnesota, has seven locations in Minnesota and one in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Its Burnsville, Minnesota, location recently underwent a $5 million renovation and expansion, where 14 new service bays were added in addition to new waste oil recovery stations, a bridge crane and high-pressure screw air compressor, two loading docks and a doubling of the parts inventory storage space.

The dealership also has a collection of antique Mack trucks, including a renovated 1926 Mack AP bus.
