Field tests for the hybrid Volvo L220F wheel loader will continue throughout the year, says Olof Persson, the new president and chief executive officer of Volvo Construction Equipment. Hybrid technology is but one example of how the company says it will maintain its concentration on technology, even in down times.
Another example is the Fenix, which Volvo unveiled at its Intermat stand this past week. The company labels the Fenix as “an environmentally and operator friendly asphalt paver that simplifies and cleans up the messy business of laying a road. The concept machine is a single unit that performs both the paving and the compacting, with all its controls governed by a single operator.
