The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) updated its Hydraulic Excavator Safety Manual with new and expanded materials reflecting current industry practices.
The manual expanded from 48 to 60 pages, adding a new section on trenching safety. Expanded materials include safe mounting and dismounting; utility location practices; attachment installation; installation, use and maintenance of quick couplers; and use of new safety design features such as gate or armrest-based hydraulic lock controls.
