Volkswagen is introducing its new modular industrial power systems at Intermat. In addition to its 3.6l-VR6-gaseous fuel engine, Volkwagen will show its new diesel engines, which will be rated at 55kW and meet US EPA Tier 4 and EU 97/68 IIIB standards from 2013 onwards.
Volkswagen offers diesel- and gaseous fuel engines in three fixed installation space cubes. Seven add-on modules allow individual configurations, including a variety of exhaust systems, air intake routings, fuel modules, charge air piping, SAE-power handovers and a universal, prewired E-box interact with mechanical or electric cooling fans.
Machinery powered by Volkswagen can now be offered alternatively for gaseous- or diesel fuel operation, without amendments to the machine design.
