2 men crushed to death in seperate heavy equipment accidents in Texas and Alaska

According to a report from KXAN TV, 24-year-old construction worker Armando Juarez was killed Nov. 18 while assisting with the installation of storm water drainage pipes in Manor, Texas.

Juarez was killed when an excavator bucket fell on top of him from its hinge. It’s unclear why the bucket fell and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has opened an investigation.

Weeks later, on Dec. 14, an employee of a heavy equipment dealer in Anchorage, Alaska, was crushed and killed in an accident as well.

 

According to the Alaska Dispatch News, the unidentified employee of Construction Machinery Industrial was pronounced dead at the scene. Details surrounding the incident were not provided but the Anchorage Police Department and OSHA are investigating the cause of the accident.
