’08 World of Concrete Supplement

With more than 900,000 square feet of exhibits, 1,739 exhibitors and 91,628 registrants, World of Concrete 2007 was the largest event in the show’s 33-year history. This year’s show promises to be even bigger and better.

The January 22-25 event in Las Vegas will feature new products, the latest technologies, 90-minute and 3-hour seminars, indoor and outdoor events and demonstrations and valuable information for industry professionals.

Known for its comprehensive how-to educational program, the 2008 WOC program offers 150+ sessions, new tracks, continuing education opportunities and a new Master Certificate program with more flexible requirements. Also new this year, the 3-hour and 90-minute seminars qualify toward the Master Certificate Program, adding even more options and flexibility for completing the 12 required hours. A new addition to the 90-minute seminars is Green Building, focusing on environmentally friendly construction. The new Greensite area of the show floor located in the South hall will feature dozens of exhibitors showcasing green build technologies along with displays, presentations and limitless information about this aspect of the construction industry.

World of Concrete 2008 will feature a two-day OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety for Concrete Construction course held Monday and Tuesday. The course satisfies the OSHA 10-hour construction safety training program requirements. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an OSHA 10-hour safety training completion card.

The Women in Concrete Luncheon and Forum will be held January 23. World of Concrete 2008 is also adding four new 90-minute seminars specially designed for women in construction: Family Business Mistakes, Powerful Language for Concrete Contractors, Women Improving Profitability and Steps to Success for Women in the Construction Industry.
